Emerging the Chrysalis of Being (2017) is the first work in my Tabernacle of Memories series, aligned with the tarot card ‘Death.’ Composed of found objects, heirlooms, gifts, and natural specimens, the assemblage reflects a lifetime of collecting in the cabinet of curiosities tradition. At its centre, an antique monkey’s skull anchors symbols of metamorphosis, memory, and spiritual searching, weaving together personal history with themes of transformation and renewal.

All works are printed by a Hahnemühle Certified studio in Cape Town, South Africa. Each work is inspected, signed and editioned by Wim van Zyl.
