The Fisher King is the sixth work in my Tabernacle of Memories series, aligned with ‘The Fool’ in tarot. A riot of symbols – from seeds, skulls, and scorpions to religious icons and a childhood gnome eraser – it embraces chaos, folly, and shadow as pathways to meaning. By reframing both Jesus and the self as fools, the piece provokes reflection on courage, vulnerability, and the sacred absurdity of being alive.

All works are printed by a Hahnemühle Certified studio in Cape Town, South Africa. Each work is inspected, signed and editioned by Wim van Zyl.
